Gothumai Mavu Kanji - Whole Wheat Flour Porridge


Whole wheat porridge is a perfect porridge to start the day in a healthy way. This will be quick fix for a busy morning. You can make this recipe in just 15 minutes. Here I am giving this recipe with step by step procedure along with picture.




Ingredients for Wheat Porridge:


  • Whole Wheat Powder – ¼ cup
  • Water – 2 cup
  • Milk – ¼ cup
  • Honey – 2 tbsp (optional)
  • Sugar – 2 tbsp
  • Cardamon powder - small pinch 
  • Nuts of your choice I used Badam shavings



Method:


  • Take water in a heavy bottomed vessel and mix whole wheat flour (I prefer mixing with hand) without any lumps. Switch on the stove with medium flame and place the vessel and cook with constant stirring.
  • After sometime the porridge will start thickening and nice aroma will be emitted, it will also become glazy. When you taste it you will not get the raw smell and raw taste. At this stage add milk, sugar, cardamon powder and mix well. Switch off the flame.
  • Add nuts according to your choice. I added shaved badam.

Notes:

  • You can alter the water and milk according to your preference.
  • You can alter the thickness by adding or reducing  water or milk.
