Kambu Koozh Recipe - Pearl Millet (Bajra) Porridge


Kambu Koozh (Pearl Millet Porridge) can be easily prepared healthy porridge recipe. This kambu will cool the body and its a refreshing drink for the summer. Here I am giving you the recipe with step by step procedure with pictures.


Kambu koozh (Pearl millet porridge) recipe can be prepared in two stages. First one is cooking the rice and second one is making the koozh (porridge). Cooking the rice has been posted in the previous post Kambu sadam. I am going to explain how to make porridge in this post.

This kambu koozh (porridge) can me served with More milagai (Buttermilk flavored Sun dried chilli), raw onions, pickels etc.

Ingredients for Kambu Koozh Recipe:

  • Kambu sadam (Pearl millet cooked rice) – 2 balls (1 ½ cup)
  • Butter milk – 1 cup
  • Water – 1 cup (water used for immersing Kambu sadam)
  • Small Onions - 6 no finely chopped
  • Salt to taste


Method:


  • Cook kambu sadam and make it as a ball. After it is cooled completely add water and keep it in the fridge for a day. This will add little sourness to it. If you want to make on the same day add water leave it for an hour.

  • Mash it using the hand along with the soaked water and add buttermilk, salt, chopped small onions and mix well.
Serve with moor milagai (Buttermilk flavored Sun dried chilli), raw onions, pickle.

Note:

  • Alter buttermilk and water according to your preference.
