Ragi Dosa is a very healthy breakfast recipe. Ragi is also called as Kelvaragu or Finger Millet which contains so many  health benefits. Here I am giving you step by step procedure for making this recipe with pictures.

Different recipe can be prepared by using ragi like ragi porridge, ragi dosa, etc. Try all these recipe and include this healthy ragi in your daily cooking. Ragi dosa goes well with coconut chutney, or with different curry of your choice.

Ingredients for Ragi Dosa:

  • Ragi Flour – 3 cups
  • Whole urad dal – ½ cup
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Water as required
  • Salt to taste

Method:

  • Wash and soak urad dal and fenugreek seeds for 2 hours.
  • Grind soaked urad dal and fenugreek seeds until smooth and fluffy.
  • Transfer to a vessel and close. Allow it to ferment for 6 to 8 hours.
  • After it is fermented add ragi flour, salt and mix well without allowing lumps to form.
  • Add water to get a consistency of dosa batter.
  • Heat a dosa tawa and spread the batter, drizzle some oil around the dosa.
  • Once it is cooked, flip it around and allow to cook other side also.
  • Remove from the tawa.
Serve dosa with coconut chutney or with any other chutney or curry of your choice.

Note:

  • You can also add fried onions to the batter and make it as a dosa. It also tastes great.
  • I used homemade ragi flour. You can also add instant ragi flour.
