Keerai Masiyal Recipe / Keerai Kadayal

Keerai Masiyal Recipe is very healthy and can be easily made by some simple steps. Here I am including a simple steps with photos for making this recipe. I used palak keerai. You can use any other greens also for making this recipe.






Ingredients for Keerai Masiyal Recipe:

Serves - 4
  • Greens – 1 bunch
  • Onion – 1 small size chopped finely
  • Tomato – 1 chopped finely
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Garlic - 2 cloves chopped finely
  • Green chilli - 2
  • Coriander seeds – 1 tsp coarsely grinded
  • Turmeric powder – a pinch
  • Sugar – a pinch
  • Salt to taste



Method:

  • Wash the greens well, chop them and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add Mustard seeds allow to splutter, add cumin seeds, add garlic and saute till become little brown then add green chilli, add chopped onions and saute for a minute, add coarsely grounded coriander seeds saute for a minute


  • Add tomato, add salt, saute for a minute then add the chopped greens and add sugar. While cooking greens will cook in its own water if not add little water. After the greens is cooked mash it using wooden mathu or grind it in a mixer, here I used hand blender. Grind it to the required consistency. If the water is not sufficient add hot water while grinding/blending.

Serve with Rice and Ghee.
